Safeguard completed a new tiled roof installation on a pitched roof in Glanmire, Cork, replacing a roof that had been causing the homeowner problems for years.
THE PROJECT, EXPLAINED
A Roof That Had Been Causing Problems for Years
The homeowner had been dealing with problems from the existing pitched roof for a number of years. For this property, the work went beyond addressing an individual issue: Safeguard completed a new tiled roof installation.
Persistent roofing problems can lead a homeowner to consider replacement, but a recurring problem does not automatically mean every roof needs renewing. The condition of the roof and the work required matter when deciding between a targeted repair and a replacement.

Agreeing the Work and Keeping in Touch
Safeguard discussed the roofing work with the customer from the initial call. There was a clear point of contact throughout the project, so questions could be raised as the installation progressed.
That communication continued through to completion. The customer did not have to wait unreasonably for answers, helping them keep in touch with the team while the work was being carried out.

Getting the Roof Tiles Up to Roof Level
The first progress photograph shows the team lifting roof tiles to working height using a materials hoist beside the scaffolding. Bundles of tiles are visible at ground level, ready to be brought up to the roof.
Bringing the tiles into position is part of preparing for the laying stage. This view shows the practical work around the house as well as the activity on the roof, before the new covering was completed.

Tiles Set Out Ready for Installation
Once brought up to roof level, stacks of new tiles were laid out across the horizontal battens. In this photograph, the tiles are still in bundles rather than forming the finished covering.
Setting the tiles out puts them within reach for laying. It also provides a useful view of the stage before the individual rows were installed across the roof slope.

The New Tiled Covering Before the Ridge Was Finished
The next photograph looks along the top of the roof, with the new tiles laid across both pitches. The rows of tiles are substantially complete, while the line at the apex remains open for the ridge-finishing work.
This was a progress stage, rather than the finished roof. The main tiled covering and the ridge are distinct parts of the installation, and the half-round ridge tiles still had to be fitted.

Installing the Half-Round Ridge Tiles
The ridge is the line where the two slopes meet at the top of the roof. The close-up photograph shows a member of the Safeguard team fitting the half-round ridge tiles along that junction.
These curved tiles provide the finish along the apex above the main tiled slopes. This image records that work in progress, following the laying of the main covering.

A Completed New Tiled Roof in Glanmire
The final photograph shows the new tiled covering and the ridge tiles installed. After years of problems with the previous roof, the homeowner now had the completed new tiled pitched roof.
The customer was very happy with the finished work. Alongside the roof itself, the responsiveness of the team mattered: communication remained open from the first call through to completion, with questions answered within a reasonable timeframe.

Planning Roofing Work at Your Property
This Glanmire project is one example of a complete tiled-roof installation. The appropriate work for another property depends on its own condition, so it is worth discussing the problem and the options before assuming the same scope is needed.
A roof inspection can help establish what needs attention. If replacement is being considered, the existing roof replacement price guide explains the factors that influence a quotation; it is general guidance, rather than a statement of what this project cost.
